Child Safe Environments Briefing for Volunteers

All volunteers in our Archdiocese are mandated notifiers under the South Australian Child Protection Legislation.

As you may be aware, all volunteers in our Archdiocese are mandated notifiers under the South Australian Child Protection Legislation. To ensure we hear the voices of children and have the necessary skills to identify and respond appropriately, we invite any volunteers who have not yet participated in Child Safe Environments training or an equivalent course to attend a 90 minute Volunteer Briefing session facilitated by the Archdiocesan Child Protection Unit.

If you have attended a Child Safe Environments or RAN training within the past 3 years you do not need to attend a Volunteer Briefing. Please note: the content of the session is not suitable for children and young people (under 18 years old) to attend so please make alternative care arrangements for your children before attending a Volunteer Briefing.

Please contact the Child Protection Unit to enquire about upcoming sessions, either via email at childprotection@adelaide.catholic.org.au or by phone on 8210 8159. Thank you for helpingus provide care and safety for our children and young people.

Code of Conduct

All volunteers must complete a code of conduct.

A copy of this Statement is displayed at Our Lady of Grace Church, Our Lady of Victories Church, in the Parish Office and at our Playgroup.

It is a requirement that all volunteers in children’s liturgy, the sacrament program, the baptism preparation team, playgroup and all Eucharistic Ministers attend Child Safe Training with the Archdiocese (or equivalent through your employment or other volunteering roles).
